OVERVIEW

A Saybolt Viscometer with Four Saybolt Tubes, as per ASTM D88 and IS:3117-2019, measures the viscosity of petroleum products. It features four tubes for simultaneous testing, with results expressed in Saybolt Universal Seconds (SUS). This instrument ensures accurate viscosity measurement for quality control in the petroleum and lubricant industries.Electrically heated model complete with Four Saybolt Tubes and electrical control panel with all accessories. With 4 Nos. Saybolt Viscosity Flask but without optional accessories.

Complies with ASTM D 88 / IS:3117-2019

The Saybolt Viscometer is used to determine empirical measurement of Saybolt Viscosity of petroleum products at specified temperatures. The time it takes for a 60 ml sample to flow through a tube with a specified diameter (Furol (3.150 mm) or Universal (1.765 mm) ) is measured and reported in seconds. The viscometer can be used for temperatures between 25°C and 50°C. The viscometer includes Waterbath, Motorized Stirrer, Electric Heater with Digital Temp. Controller with control accuracy of ± 0.1°C. (The room temp. must be @ 20-21°C to achieve control accuracy)

Construction Details: 

  1. The apparatus consists of stainless steel bath with two sample cups
  2. The bath has a lid which contains a thermometer socket and a straight heater. 
  3. Temperature is controlled by PID Digital Temperature indicator cum controller
  4. Stirring is done by FHP motorized stirrer. 
  5. A thermometer can be inserted into the cup cover to cross check the Digital controller. 
  6. Four jets – Two Universal and Two Furol can be screwed to the cup by a handle. 
  7. Entire assembly works on 220 Volt, 50 hz, Single phase, AC Supply
  8. Universal Orifice: 2 pc
