Made of brass/Gunmetal with the shape, dimensions and tolerances as shown in fig.1 of IS: 1208‑1978. The ends b & b’ are known as clips, and the parts a & a`, as sides of the mould. The dimension of the mould will be such that when properly assembled, it will form a briquette specimen having the following dimensions.

  • Total Length = 75 +/‑ 0.5mm
  • Distance between clips = 30 +/‑ 0.3mm
  • Width of mouth of clips = 20 +/‑ 0.2mm
  • Width of minimum cross = 10 +/‑ 0.1mm
