Automatic Marshal Compactor for Bituminous Mixes-VSLIC4032

Brand: Vertex Brand

IS Standard : BS 598-107

Product Introduction

This Equipment is to speed up the process with ease and accuracy to prepare cylindrical specimens for Marshal Stability Testing Machine. The compactor has been designed to simulate hand compaction as described in ASTM D1559. This apparatus automatically compacts the sample and stops after a preset number of blows have been completed. The Compactor gives Uniformly and accurately compacted marshal moulds for reliable testing.

Vertex Automatic Marshall compaction machine are designed to provide a stable and rigid mechanism for producing 4″ & 6″ diameter asphalt pills used in Marshall tests.

The Marshall compaction machines are available in two types of configurations: one with a rotating mold with a tapered foot hammer assembly, and the other a stationary mold with a flat-foot hammer. Both models feature a heavy-duty design, which stands up well to the constant jarring caused by the compaction process.

These machines feature an automatic counter allows the operator to present number fo blows wanted and will turn off the machine when completed. After the number of blows has been set, the operator can start the machine with push button and keep track of the number of blows on a LED readout. A cam-action lever operates the integral mold holder to facilitate insertion and removal of the compaction mold.

General Description & Specification

It is a motor driven mechanical compactor useful for compaction into 100 mm Dia moulds. It is fitted with a compaction rammer of 98.5mm Dia, weighing 4.535 kg. with a free fall of 457 mm. The rammer assembly is provided with a ratchet and pawl arrangement to lift it from the top of the test sample. When the rammer reaches the required height the pawl release the rammer which falls freely on the test specimen. The release mechanism is connected by an arm moving up and down which is connected to a reduction gear coupled to the motor through another arm. An automatic blow counter fitted to the compactor is used to set the number of blows. The Compactor is supplied complete with wooden pedestal. Suitable to work on 220V, 50 Hz, AC single phase.
