VOLUME CHANGE GAUGE – SINGLE VSLIC-S226

The volume change gauges are designed to measure changes in volume of specimen, measured in terms of the change in the volume of the cell, during a triaxial shear test. The apparatus consists of an outer acrylic tube and an inner graduated glass burette held between two blocks. Manifolds are provided to enable water, either to pass through the tubes during measurements or to go direct to the cell when no measurements are required.

The unit consist of a glass graduated tube of the appropriate capacity graduated to parts of a ml. Enclosed in a perpex tube sealed by two end caps. The unit is fitted with manifolds and valves which enable it to be used with the triaxial cell and the constant pressure and its inside is coated with a layer of silicon water repellent to reduce the error in meniscus.

There is an arrangement for filling the unit with water and paraffin and a drainage valve is provided in the lower and cap. The whole assembly is mounted on a panel suitable for wall mounting.

Single Burette, 10 ml, Capacity graduated in 0‑05 ml. division.
