OVERVIEW

Each Triaxial Cell must be equipped with a Triaxial Test Cell Kit, which contains components required for mounting and testing specific sample diameters. Gilson’s Triaxial Cells have clear acrylic chambers and are designed for use with Load Frames and Control Panels by Gilson as well as those of other manufacturers. These rugged cells are available with brass or stainless steel fittings, with models to test specimens in diameters ranging from 1.4 to 6in (36 to 152mm). The Triaxial Cell for 6in dia.

SPECIFICATIONS

The cell cylinders are made from acrylic plastic material and those for use up to 20 bar (20 kg/cm2 ) are usually reinforced by bands. Each cell has four take-off positions, drilled in the base, for Cell pressure, Pore water pressure, Drainage, or backpressure. All valves are of the ‘no-volume change’ type. Universal triaxial cells accept a range of base adaptors for testing a wide range of specimen sizes.
