OVERVIEW

It consist of a road wheel suitable for clamping 14 road stone specimens on its periphery. A rubber tyred wheel fitted with a lever system to exert a load of 40 kgf. on the road wheel. An hopper unit fitted with drain cork for feeding emery powder over the road wheel.

A water reservoir fitted with drain cork for feeding water into hopper. Suitable for operation on 220v, 50 Hz, single phase supply. Skid resistance tester, Specimen preparation moulds (14 nos are required) , silicon sand and air floated emery powder required as per IS 2386 (Part IV) are offered separately.

Details

Accelerated Polishing Machine. Specimens are manufactured in accurately machined and matched moulds; they are then removed from the moulds and located on the ‘Road wheel’. Abrasives are continuously fed through fixed speed mechanical feeders. Flour emery is loaded on to the tyred wheel by spring loaded separator plate; corn emery is fed directly to the specimen through a feed chute.

Water is introduced at a controlled rate from a self contained water supply. Used water and abrasives are collected in a removable tray. The ‘tyred wheel’ is raised and lowered to the ‘road wheel’ by a mechanical lifting device, these wheels are easily changed.

The road wheel having a flat periphery, and revolving about its on axis at a speed of 320 to 325 rov/min. Rubber tyred wheel of 20cms dia and 5cms breadth to bear on the stone surface of the road wheel a total load of 40 Kg.

1. Skid resistance tester to be purchased at additional cost
